Blood Pressure Screenings – Free blood pressure screenings are available to members of the community every Tuesday from 3 to 4 p.m. in Kendall Regional Medical Center’s Outpatient department on the hospital’s second floor, at 11750 Bird Road, Miami. The National Kidney Foundation of Florida and Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, Diabetes Outpatient Program will be conducting free health screening for people at increased risk of developing kidney. The screening is part of the National Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP), a free health screening designed to help identify and educate individuals at increased risk—those who either have diabetes and/or hypertension or have first-degree relatives with hypertension, diabetes, or chronic kidney failure—with the purpose of delaying or preventing the development of chronic kidney disease. Diabetes and hypertension are the two leading causes of kidney failure. Individuals who are at-risk can make an appointment for the screening by calling 1-800-976-0772.
